Kitchen Sunday - Coconut Macaroons






Adam and I had the best coconut macaroons in SF from the Golden Gate Bakery in Chinatown and I have been dreaming about them more than a gal should.

Today I decided to finally make some using this recipe. I was thinking they were going to be tricky, but you only need condensed milk (yum!), coconut, vanilla & egg whites. Pretty easy!

They sort of spread in the oven but kept a little peak which is what I wanted. The little pool around them was soft and golden brown, so I just went around them with a knife so they look prettier. I would still like to master the perfect little mountains I had in Chinatown last month, but that will come with some testing.
